Turquoise Quintet, a 1990's San Francisco ensemble, was devoted to creating original jazz composed collectively by the combo. Violin and flute lead instruments, Middle Eastern percussion, and the Quintet's original approach to jazz forms give a uniquely Turquoise coloration to the jazz on this album, which contains over 50 minutes of completely original music.
