    Edward Sheriff Curtis (1868 – 1952)

Internationally known authority on the North American Indian, an ethnologist and photographer. Curtis took over 40,000 photographicimages of over 80 tribes. He recorded tribal lore and history, described leaders, food, housing, garments, recreation, ceremonies, and funeral customs.

Curtis was known as ‘Shadow Catcher,’ a name given to him by several tribes.

“The information that is to be gathered, of life of one of the great races of mankind, must be collected at once or the opportunity will be lost.” — Edward S. Curtis

I know about everything regarding Edward Curtis. My eleemosynary work is totally dedicated to native issues in the modern world. I bought your cards to pass along to “native youth” I encounter along my way.

My other favorite playing card gift comes from TRICKSTER Co. in Alaska. You should check it out! Also check out WINGS OF AMERICA.org - a non-profit I helped found in the early 1980’s... The EO is Dustin Martin. Consult him to create a deck of Native American athletes competing throughout the modern Olympics. How many can YOU name?
ALSO: I really like the texture and flexibility of your decks!

These are seriously the coolest cards ever. The photographs blow me away. Everyone needs to look into these faces and remember the injustices that happened to these humans. Aside from the pictures the cards are great quality and so easy to hold and play with. Highly recommend.
